The following exercise will help you to own your power by showing you where you may be giving it away to others. Begin to own what you have projected onto others.
1. Think of 6 people that you admire whom you consider to be powerful. This can be a friend, a politician, a teacher, a child. This can be a person who has transitioned or even a character. Choose anyone that you admire....
2. Quietly think about each person and the reason your call them "powerful". What traits do you admire? Are they generous & open? Why do you consider them "powerful"?
3. Now list these traits next to their name. Use as many descriptive words as you like. Here is an example of how your list may look.
Aunt Margie Honest about feelings
4. The next step is to stand in front of a mirror, list in hand. And with every item on the list, repeat aloud to your reflection...."I AM honest about my feelings." etc.....
Reclaim what you project onto others, stop giving power to others - it is yours.....
A great add-on to this exercise is to start over but within the list include those that you have ill feelings for, that you despise and those that zap your power......Don't forget to list those items in the "I AM" mirror.......
Power is continually flowing from and to us! Choose to be YOU
